Pros

Gaston County Schools' new superintendent, Mr. Jeff Booker, has done more for teachers than past administrations. Although he is not an educator by trade, he understands the business end of education and seems to be doing all he can to provide needed resources.

Cons

I noticed the person who commented above said the older teachers have a poor attitude and no computer skills. I don't think this person realizes that when most of us were hired there were no computers in Gaston County Schools. Is this our fault? While computers, the internet, SMART Boards and many other forms of technology have been put in place, very little hands on training has been given. Those is Title 1 Federally Funded Schools have received the most technology and training. Schools who don't have 50% or more of their students on free lunch (non-title one) receive very little in the form of training or equipment.
