Pros
Agricultural equipment industry is very stable, GSI is well funded.
Cons
Here is only about AGCO GSI Malaysia (which was called the GSI group before). Be aware of the reality: GSI Malaysia came from a dictating "underdog" Malaysian Chinese man built a Malaysian regional company, formed a traditional Chinese management team and culture. A real conservative Malaysian-Chinese company inside an international group. So here are facts: 1. Most likely you won't be appreciated for your contribution (because management team think it is your job), but you will be accused for your mistake (even without asking the situation and reason). 2. Just do whatever management team tell you to, and in the way they want you to, no brain needed. Because they reject your proposal within two sentences of your introduction, and will not let you try new thing. 3. Extremely high stress from micro management, people just bad mouthing behind and to management team. 4. Lack of support from other department or management team, because everyone is suffering from his/her own problems. 5. No innovation. Because inside GSI Malaysia, “if you rise up an issue, you are the one to solve it”. Without help and support, most likely you will fail and get blamed. So why bother? 6.One-man company, many invisible bosses, you won’t have much say for your own work, and you won’t have much right to make decision, unless you are brave enough to take risk to face accusation. 7. HR will never help you to solve your performance problem, but will definitely stab you from behind before communicating with you for solution. 8. No potential to grow your career. Because the career path to the top is very short, no way to get promoted. And most of time you will do brainless jobs and deal with difficult departments. So the experience would not be really helpful for your career.
