Competitive salary for the work required. Paid travel, sometimes to interesting places. Leadership is filled with kind-hearted people who really care about their employees.
Cons
Grave issue of myopia -- leadership may tell you to go somewhere or do something based on a whim and they expect you to put everything else you are doing on hold. Often times said thing is clearly a bad strategy. Leadership also wants to be involved yet semi-retired at the same time. You might hear something about how they trust you and they want to you give you more responsibility, but when you find a project to pursue that would benefit the company, they throw every roadblock they can. Finally, the lack of a standard operating procedure for the company and a united mission is really a drag. For a while I do not think anybody could really explain to you exactly what we do in a concise and thoughtful way.
