I worked for GNY’s New York City office for roughly ten years. It’s a middle-of-the-road satisfactory company for which to work. Nothing great and nothing awful.
Cons
Shortly after the implementation of the company’s Job Performance Review process (with a grading system of 1 to 5) it was made clear to us in management around 2013 in a meeting that, we shouldn’t be inclined to give our employees a ‘5’ [excellent] because this would suggest that they are over-qualified for their position and that they should be doing something else; however there was no discouragement from giving them a ‘1’ [poor]. Well thanks for telling management not to give employees an excellent rating for their performance. If you are a person who wishes to go the extra mile and to do good for your employer it may not be appreciated here.
