Pros
Coworkers are great, it’s like people who bond through tough circumstances. This was my first office job, so at least it gives experience there.
Cons
When I started I really liked the job. The work you do has some meaning when you eventually cut through the red tape. Unfortunately the working environment got worse over time. Very clear divide between management (and their favorites) and the workers. High stress fast pace environment and they take “customer is always right” to a new level. I became more depressed being there, like this is what I was supposed to feel, but after leaving I realized it was just the down atmosphere that broke me. Benefits are bad. No vacation until you’ve been there a full year, more if you start as a temp, and then you get one week. You get very few sick days, and none roll over. There is no working relationship between you and management. They love to deny time off. Multiple occasions I witnessed difficultly getting time off to attend funerals. No there is no paid bereavement. Pay isn’t great. It was enough to support myself while living at home, but it never felt like this would be a career, it was a job. There is no job security. One mistake and you could be let go. However they are pretty random on when to fire and when to ignore the problem. Usually depends on how busy they are. People are properly trained so poor work just keeps happening and more responsibilities fall on those experienced enough to fix things.
