Pros
GDP Architects offers exposure to diverse, high-profile projects, which is great for building a portfolio, especially for freshers. The team can be supportive, and the office environment has good facilities. Some colleagues are passionate and inspiring to work with.
Cons
Like unhealthy roots left unchecked, longstanding issues here are becoming harder to fix. Unrealistic deadlines and overwork are rampant, with projects often requiring days of overtime, leading to burnout. It took a while for a new face that gets into the team to understand this but after a few years, the lack of a proper HR team means contributions go unrecognized, and salary increments are rare or close to non-existent, which demotivates staff. The office in Bukit Damansara is inconvenient, far from public transport and eateries, adding daily stress. Additionally, many middle managers and senior staff lack effective leadership skills, delegating tasks without clear direction or meaningful contribution. This results in vague goals, inefficient workflows, and wasted efforts, as staff are often left redoing work that leads nowhere. These systemic issues hinder productivity and morale.
