Pros
The mission matters to everyone on the team. We are solving real problems for real users and helping them achieve their dreams. It's inspiring how every single person at Fundera takes this to heart. The CEO and the leadership team lead by example. They do a great job of leading and motivating the team. It's really fun to see how the long-term vision is happening, slowly but surely. Each one of the leaders brings a unique perspective to the table and their bond and relationship are a great example for the team. The product vision and roadmap is strong. We do a really good job of figuring out what we can test and build, and how those things get us closer towards our goals. There are tons of interesting problems to solve, and everyone is empowered to run at them, try things, fail, iterate, learn, and grow along the way. The team is full of smart, talented, and kind people. Everyone goes out of their way to help each other and collaborate. Everyone is an expert at what they do and passionate about it.
Cons
Despite being in the tech space, the company still has a strong bias towards sales process. If we're going to grow up as a product organization, we need to be honest about what influence it should have over the product. Keeping the status quo just to avoid change is no longer good enough. Benefits and perks are very 'meh' for the startup space. It feels like we haven't really grown out of the scrappy mentality there.
