Pros

I am working here for the last 5 years and honestly, I don’t recall that we have anything good enough to shout about. The only point I would say that is deemed as a fair assessment is the work life balance. We are not required to stay late to complete our assignment.

Cons

First and foremost, I will share with you some of my experiences and will try to express it in chronological order. I joined in 2005 and the Asia Pacific operations are small. We had a small staff number and everyone knows each other well enough to strike a conversation. I was happy working with my peers but the work practice and the organisation vision is no different now as compared to five years ago. We are made to work on consulting projects without any coaching and most of the time, our end results do not live up to the client’s expectation. No one seems to be worried and there is no emphasis placed on quality. Priority is always made on sales. That is why salesperson that can sell will be rewarded well but the management do not consider whether the assignment is doable and within the price quotation. We will accept any projects even if it is below costs and we are not capable of executing it. Years past, and we are lucky to have ridden on the growth path and was growing rapidly. Five years later, I am sad to say that we have to only move from bad to worse in terms of our work but the office also suffers from many unfair decisions. It has caused a lot of resentment among the staff. Almost everyone at the top comes from India and they believe that they can run the company with no considerations of different country cultures and belief. There are so many unnecessary positions created by the top management for their relatives and friends through the years and it has come to a point that we are no longer able to sustain the costs. The global economic crisis has taken a toll on us and we had to pay the price and the brunt of the decisions made by the management. Costs cutting initiatives are undertaken by the management to save pennies and no solutions are made on the main root cause of the problem. The management always preach and say that we are performing better than our competitors and I don’t think that it holds any water. The truth is that we are not even in the top 50 consulting company globally. Our value propositions are vague and we do not have a strong management team that can lead the company to greater heights. Only time will tell whether we can survive and pull through this economic crisis.
