Pros

I've been in a litigation role for over 10 years at Frontline Insurance, and for the first decade, the experience was truly positive. It was a family-owned company that valued work-life balance—I was consistently able to leave at 5 PM, which allowed me to maintain a healthy separation between work and personal life. During that time, the environment felt supportive and collaborative. While leadership has changed over the years with the arrival of new VPs and directors, I want to highlight that the earlier years stood out as a genuinely rewarding and balanced professional experience.

Cons

In recent years, the shift in leadership at Frontline Insurance has significantly changed the work environment. The new management style leans heavily toward micromanagement, which has eroded the work-life balance that once made this company so appealing. Ongoing layoffs have added more responsibilities to my workload and that of my peers, creating a stressful and unsustainable atmosphere. There’s a growing fear of speaking up or even asking questions, as it often feels like doing so could have negative consequences. Despite my long tenure with the company, opportunities for advancement are limited—leadership roles are consistently filled by external hires rather than promoting from within. It’s disheartening not to have a clear path for growth, especially with stagnant wages and the standard 1–2% annual increases. Unfortunately, many colleagues across various claim departments are expressing the same frustrations.

Pros

-Flexible hours: Mondays and Fridays WFH option! Also willing to give time-off for travel, considering it was Summer Break (very generous) -Flexible end-date to accommodate class schedules -Awesome Intern Programming: Weekly enrichment meetings for personal and professional growth. -Networking Opportunities and group and 1:1 conversations/lunches with Company Leaders -Opportunities to explore other departments/fields and learn more about the Insurance Industry -Many interns received subsequent job offers (full-time or part-time accommodating for school) -Program is small enough to feel tight-knit but still growing every year -Genuinely felt like they wanted us to succeed and to invest in our futures -Monthly Social Events -Service Opportunities! -Kind and Supportive management and family-like company culture -Competitive Pay for an internship! -Very down-to-earth attitude

Cons

-Still a relatively new program, some departments (including mine) had not hired interns before, so depending on your department the quality of daily work could vary immensely. Most of us always had projects to do, but others complained they were bored and watched Netflix at their desks. -Relatives/Referrals prioritized in hiring, however as someone who knew no one here I was never made to feel like an outsider. Kinda expected for a private company though.

Pros

The company has above average benefits. The workload is reasonable. The staff is comprised of very intelligent experienced individuals. The ability to work remotely is a plus.

Cons

I worked for the company for a few years and have seen what can be accomplished when like minded individuals work together in unity and respect. Unfortunately, recent leadership changes have negatively impacted the work environment. The environment is now micromanaged which shows a lack of trust in experienced staff, senior leadership interacts with the team in a way that feels disrespectful and dismissive. Rather than empowering managers, there is a growing sense that we’re being treated like children. Every decision is questioned, every mistake is repeatedly thrown in your face, the atmosphere is toxic and a handful of people at the upper levels of the company are driving great people out the door. Despite being told that internal growth is a priority, upper-level roles continue to be outsourced. Morale is at an all-time low. Many are concerned about turnover, especially knowing that this VP’s previous department saw a large number of departures due to similar issues. It’s frustrating and discouraging to see the same patterns emerge, especially when talented, dedicated employees are at risk of leaving.
