Amazing culture.. People are amazing. Job is TOUGH.. One of the toughest factory/warehouse jobs I've had and I've been to some rough places.. The dust from the spices is in many cases caustic and the exhaust hoods don't work very well. Lifting 50+ lbs every few seconds or minutes for 8 hours a day is a good workout but not for everybody
Cons
The safety issues.. Dear Lord, the safety issues. I saw people get fingers mangled every couple weeks.. Dangerous forklift drivers.. No protective covers on equipment often.. Not taken off.. Never there to start with.. Some spices will eat your skin off no matter how much PPE they give you.. Low Pay. The plant manager and the CEO do not take feedback well.. Or at all. They court big clients like Walmart but only pay $15 an hour. They could do better by their employees. I didn't take advantage of their daycare due to grown kids but it's a nice perk that counterbalances the low pay IF YOU HAVE KIDS. If not, it doesn't at all. The CEO is really Really kind and does an amazing job. I'd love to see the place become more safety minded though. They just got sprinkler systems installed finally.. Which a lot of manufacturers don't.. But this place produces cinnamon (powder ignites and flashes so instant fireball) and vanilla extract (HIGH alcohol content.. More like a napalm explosion). Safety needs addressed. I know they have fur suppression in the vanilla room but you also have only 60 seconds before the door seals and the oxygen removed from the room.. just a lot of things that didn't set right with me while I worked there. Wonderful place but I feared for myself and those around me.
