Pros

- people are lovely - exciting product, service and opportunity - if you're in ops, it can be better than other opportunities on the market - half price on a subscription to Frive but that's about it for benefits (but they're still growing this function so you have an opportunity to push for specific benefits)

Cons

- they're quick to sack people, so there's constant brain drain and people on edge - deep cuts has worsened this, with critical areas needed for product growth also cut, meaning potential to grow is stunted. Everyone is looking elsewhere as financials aren't great following rebrand - several big missteps without consultation with wider team/company; several mistakes could have been avoided if the floor was open to discussion - very ops-focused so product has been neglected. With no dedicated in-house devs, progress is also slow

Thanks for your feedback, a lot has happened since you left your review and we've committed a great deal to learn from last years challenges in order to not repeat them. We value every voice that takes the time to share their experience and your feedback was and is still valuable. We’re really glad to hear you found the team lovely and the product and mission exciting — that energy and belief in what we’re building means a lot to us. We also want to acknowledge the more critical points you’ve raised. It’s been a challenging period of change as we rebranded and restructured parts of the business to create a more sustainable path forward. While some of those decisions were tough, we recognise the impact they’ve had — on people, morale, and momentum — and we worked hard in Q4 2024 and Q1 2025 to rebuild your trust as well as that of the wider business. Product and tech are a big part of our next phase, and we know they need more love and attention. I'll finish up with a summary of some of our benefits we have in place now which we believe are a massive step in the right direction. Here are some to give you and prospective candidates an update. - Mintago (Free advice, Mind Mental Health support, Lost Pension Consolidator, Mortgage Advice, Retirement Planning and Credit Support), - Vitality - Private Medical Insurance - 50% off Frive food - 25 Days Holiday + public holiday - Hybrid working options and the ability to work from abroad - Enhanced Parental Leave Allowance - Bonus options Thanks again for your openness — wishing you all the best in your next chapter.

Pros

Some great staff who pull the company through.

Cons

Management and organisational structure need significant improvement. There has been a high turnover of staff, including in key positions, which impacts continuity and morale. New ideas and alternative approaches do not always appear to be welcomed, leading to frustration and loss of talented employees. Operational standards can feel inconsistent at times, particularly around planning, hygiene processes, and maintaining best practices rather than simply meeting minimum requirements. Teams responsible for hygiene and compliance appear stretched and not always adequately supported. There are also concerns around decision-making and implementation of internal systems, where speed can seem to take priority over quality. Workplace safety and equipment maintenance could benefit from greater attention. Overall, there is potential in the business, but stronger leadership, better long-term planning, and greater investment in people, standards, and safety would improve both employee experience and operational performance.

Pros

Frive is a very friendly place to work. The CEO is always keen to chat and speaks to everyone no matter their department or level. Ideas are heard from everyone on creative subjects and ideas to build the business. There are monthly socials and the staff support each other in personal endeavours as well, for example a staff member starred in a theatre production so we all went along and cheered them on. From a work perspective I find there's room for creative ideas and people are rewarded for their contribution. I recently got a shout out in a monthly review and was given a gift card etc. They're building a great place to work and we're all excited to be a part of it. We work from home 3 days a week from the main office, if expenses are involved with capture days that's covered, the brand team are great to work with and the company is diverse. I'd recommend working here.

Cons

Onboarding for me personally was quite rushed and I had to adapt very quickly. However this was mostly because this was the first time they had a videographer join and they were in desperate need of video content and paid media assets. I was quite happy to get on with the job and integrate by doing. I could see how this might be intimidating to a junior member of staff but it certainly wasn't supported. Everyone always came to me with a smile on their face, even if there was another brief in hand.
