Pros

Great place to learn and gain skill experience to level up as a tech

Cons

management doesn't take action about the tech's needs to provide the best patient care. Management has many issues and they all fall on their employees

Pros

Specialty in the same hospital was great. Loved being able to offer owners that kind of support as well as the advanced imaging capabilities. Decent benefits. Enjoyed working with rotating interns as we could mutually teach and learn from each other on the job. A few good people in management and a few doctors and support staff I really enjoyed working with, most of whom have left.

Cons

ER perpetually short staffed. VTs/VAs would routinely go home at 3pm and have to come back at 10pm to work overnight. Bullied by and talked down to by many doctors if they'd even give me the time of day to report on a patient or ask a question. This was partly due to case load being too overwhelming. We were not allowed to turn people away even when we had no cage space. Was told at hire that I'd have up to 8 patients, which is still double the recommended number. In reality I had up to 15 with little to no assistance. Extremely toxic and clique-y, lots of gossip and rumors and Mean Girls type nonsense. Some people working in ER had no business doing what they were doing as they had poor or incomplete training and/or made repeated careless mistakes with no consequences. Was told there would be growth potential and saw very little. Saw a few interns nearly break down from stress because of doctors on staff, not necessarily clients or patients.
