Pros
FreightPOP is a tight-knit group of hard-working folks. It was a pleasure to go to battle with them every day (after all, working at a startup feels like a battle...albeit a fun one!). I really loved how we took a modern software approach to an otherwise archaic, antiquated industry. Because the company is very much in startup mode, you'll be able to take on a ton of responsibility so long as you are a go-getter. As someone in a business development role, I was able to have my voice heard from a variety of vantage points (product, customer success, marketing, etc.) - which I loved and I felt it helped me grow a lot as a professional to work cross-functionally all the time. And finally, the company is in a position to expand rapidly soon (larger customers coming aboard, funding, etc) which is obviously a great sign and can provide great leadership opportunities as the company scales.
Cons
I suppose you can call this a downside...because it's a startup you've got to be very quick to own a mistake, regardless of whose fault it is. "Don't point the finger. Pull the Thumb" was a mantra of ours - because at the end of the day we're in the business of delighting customers and you've got to do what's best for the company, not you as an individual. Another potential con is that because everyone is running a million miles a second always, it can feel a bit overwhelming at times. However, this is startup energy 101 so if you're reading this, that likely won't scare you.
