Freedom from Torture does incredible work supporting survivors of torture. Working at the organisation you can see the direct impact it has, through fundraising being sat within the London clinical centre. You can see how the funding is used. Lean organisation - no wasted resource Collaborative approach to fundraising without competitiveness around targets Opportunities for innovation and creation Benefits are really good - including holiday, access to financial advisers etc. Genuine people who care about the cause and survivors Fundraising pay is good for sector average

Lack of resource in comparison to larger charities e.g. no team to collect stories from survivors, which makes it hard to fundraise Roles needs to be realistic in terms of what can be achieved - lots of roles have a mish mash of responsibilities, which means you can feel like you're not doing anything well Some teams aren't as effective as they could be, but this isn't always addressed by management

Clinical team does amazing work

Incredibly disorganised. Clinical teams are not valued enough though they are the main reason anybody would want to donate to us.
