Pros

The pay is ok, enough to keep you from searching for a job that treats you better but not enough to let you live comfortably

Cons

The culture of the entire warehouse as well as the maintenance department is miserable. Rampant sexual harassment, racism, homophobia, really any kind of bigotry you can think of thrives at the Puyallup Fred Meyer distribution center because management refuses to take it seriously. When brought up to management, they will retaliate against you and put you down to the rest of your crew. Management refuses to communicate with you unless it’s something negative or they want you to stay late. Want to use your time off? You have to find coverage, management won’t help you and will not approve of your time off unless you do their job for them.

Pros

Job can be fun and interesting Always something new to learn Lots of personal fulfillment as a manager when things go right

Cons

Unsupportive upper management Toxic work culture, unpaid overtime is rewarded and even expected or forced, even to the tune of multiple weeks in a row with no days off when you are salaried. They claim to support work life balance but even the smallest effort to set boundaries is heavily punished. Not paid as much as we should be for everything we have to do and deal with
