Pros

The individuals and support staff are great

Cons

Management thinks DSPs aren't even capable of working a thermostat so they lock them up. They treat everyone as incompetent and even if you report something that they expect you to report, they will go around in circles to make it your fault somehow. The nurses don't trust DSPs to administer meds so they pack dose sets and micromanage those virtually. They pack them wrong half the time but they deny it and they don't trust DSPs so nothing gets done about their errors, even though they pin med errors on staff and even will report these errors to the state without ever reaching out to ask what actually happened so you'll never know if they accused you of a med error or not. They are so disorganized and have no idea what they're doing. They can't advise on how to manage high behaviors so they just say it's a part of the job and you have to learn to deal with it when there are so many steps they could take to try to fix things. Makes doing your job 100x harder. They recently gave all of the staff written warnings for not completing training that they didn't even tell us existed because they didn't want to look like they failed to train us, which they did.

Pros

Leadership cares about its employees and everyone cares about the clients. The company pays what they can based on markets and insurance payouts. But they care and will provide whatever services are needed on a case by case basis. As a professional, my clients are the “why” and the company reflects the values of many of the long timers.

Cons

Long wait list, not enough qualified providers when comparing to the demand. Not necessarily the fault of Fraser, but a clear indication of the need for qualified staff who want to do this amazing work.

Pros

Great support and on boarding process. Work from home option. PTO is easy to take and find coverage for.

Cons

Pay is good compared to similar roles, but needs to be more. Health insurance benefit is expensive.
