Pros

Benefits Product is great Some co-workers and supervisors were amazing positive minded people with a true passion and genuine values that align with a strong vision for hospitality.

Cons

*Some dishonest co-workers and shady management. *Condo residents are nauseatingly painful to deal with on a regular basis. This is part of the nature of luxury hotels with condos but The Four Seasons lets them basically run the restaurant and I couldn't believe it. *Bare bones staff in the restaurant...tip pooling with co-workers resulted in headaches as opposed to making things easier. It felt Union without actually being Union *Two out of the 4 bartenders would constantly get behind and throw away active drink order tickets so that they could focus on their own tables/bar guests (their own tip pool) instead of doing things the proper way with integrity. They basically relied on the dining room servers to come remind them about the drinks that needed to be made. Then they'd play dumb and claim that the orders didn't come through the system and print. It was something that I noticed quickly and was an immediate red flag. This is a huge no-no in any other restaurant and would not fly but apparently the veterans can do what they want without the younger managers wanting to get involved. At one point one bartender made 7 different excuses in a row which were quite lazy and obvious lies. She delivered the excuses in such a way that showed she knew she'd get away with it as long as she came up with new excuses. It was quite creepy. Other servers told me it's been happening for years and one of those two bartenders all but admitted it to me before he knew I took issue with it. They both flat out lied about it on a regular basis and will continue to take it to the grave. Since they're so good at schmoozing it also means they are expert liars. (Except the ones with a good conscience. The incentive they had for lying was keeping the bar system at status quo (no more hands) so they could continue making a lot of money for themselves. It put me in difficult positions that made me look like I wasn't keeping up with things myself which led to me getting written up. Two of the managers likely couldn't see what I saw and at least 1 knew it was happening and even tried to cover for them by lying to me. ** The other 2 bartenders kept up most of the time and when they couldn't they didn't resort to shady practices. It's weird how split down the middle the staff is with great and then poor behavior. It took them a few months but after I took this to leadership the staff turned on me and had me pushed out. Dishonest written statements coordinated by veterans and manager(s). Not saying I didnt have flaws there but it was insane how quickly it went from me taking issue with something obvious and me being pushed out. I'm not perfect and looking back I wish I knew it wasnt the right job for me before accepting the position but that work environment had a negative impact on me. When people are that shady it translates into a tremendous amount of stress and affected my lifestyle and day to day routines. It made me care less since it was clearly hopeless and had bad impact on being focused at work. Ultimately these scenarios negatively affect the guest.

Pros

Very friendly staff. Straightforward job with good pay. Overall an enjoyable job.

Cons

Inconsistent hours. Burnout can occur if you're looking for something easy. Other than that its pretty much exactly what you'd expect. Good job to have.

Pros

Great immediate management (up to department head), good travel benefits (although not as good as previous years), health insurance excellent. Travel benefits are nice when you can use them. Become better at what do you, but with an emotional cost.

Cons

Toooo profit heavy and want to please owners versus staff, worklife balance needs improvement although it's getting there. Pulse Survey results need to be taken more seriously by PC and not put on department heads and asssitant managers, need accountability on PC to action. Terrible employee meals, especially if not AM Monday through Friday. Poor corporate ELT team since post covid times.
