Pros

Pay is pretty on par for Hawaii region at $32/hour

Cons

I have yet to be paid for my last 3 weeks of work. I’m in the process of filing an official unpaid wages complaint with the state of Hawaii. Team of 5-6 on site HR are some of the least helpful people I’ve ever dealt with in my 10 years of hotel experience. I would not recommend working for this company solely for that reason. They make a lot of mistakes & are unhelpful when asked for assistance correcting. This was the sentiment shared by many employees & departments property wide. The perks are pretty exciting at first but then you realize they’re much better at other companies/hotels in Hawaii. For example, paid insurance at four seasons for the employee but Marriott covers all costs for you, your spouse/domestic partner & any dependents! Hotel benefits seem good then you realize there are never any employee rate rooms available when searching. Also they are big on the “promote from within” but hardly any higher, management positions appear on their job search when searching internally. Many, many red flags.

Pros

The banquets department is run incredibly well. Our director is extremely knowledgable and approachable. The back of the house (and overall hotel) is super clean, which makes doing your job smoother. Even as an on-call employee, your input on daily operations is valued, and feedback is genuinely appreciated. The GM even takes time out of his schedule to meet with us, which speaks to their commitment to continuous improvement. There’s definitely a hierarchy, but at the very least, leadership is not pretentious. Overall, Four Seasons cares about its employees and treats us with the same level of respect as guests. I definitely recommend working in this department.

Cons

Four Seasons is not as busy as other hotels in the city so you won't have many shifts.

Pros

Travel benefits Free health insurance

Cons

Underpaid, working for 3 properties. Definitely no work life balance. Tenured employees are not valued, they would hire NEW employees for remote only. Unable to be remote if you have been there for awhile, always get denied even if you have shown yourself with metrics and training new people. Leadership only cares about operations they only want good things to be heard, no negative things are said, no improvement. Everyone there always say something on what to improve on but nothing has happened. They always say that our department has made MILLIONS for bookings but our pay is low even with commissions with crazy schedules. Also, same salary with new hires. Alot of former employees in this reservations department leaves all the time. They would place you in different schedules even force you work overnight. Also they only release schedules a week before or 3 days before. Because they said “if there are no call outs, then we can release the schedule 2 weeks or a month before” All I can say is save yourself
