Pros
Fluor has a long legacy of designing and constructing some of the most complex projects in the world across it's various business lines. This legacy, coupled with it's consistent rankings at the top of various industry rankings create a sense of pride across the workforce. Fluor as a company does a great job of providing opportunity to it's employees to advance their careers in any direction that their talents and desires align. For hard-working, talented people, there is literally no job or role that is off the table. Fluor compensates it's people well in most cases when business results allow. Some years are leaner than others, but across a 5-10 year trajectory, one can expect consistent raises (where personal performance has earned it). Above all, the work is just plain interesting! If you enjoy designing and constructing some of the worlds premier chemical production facilities, bridges, highways, pharmaceutical production, mines, and so forth, this is a great company.
Cons
Due to the nature of project-to-project based work, it can feel unstable at times. This meaning, when business is good, it's good and you have employment; when business is down, you may not know what your next project or assignment will be.
