Pros
Technology, People, lower pay has been somewhat addressed (except bonuses are now capped and the structure how it’s calculated has changed).
Cons
Flexport had previously distinguished its culture from other logistics companies. Times have seriously changed, this place is becoming like a typical 3PL freight brokerage each day. Employees are churned and burned. Culture perks appear great on the surface and then you read the fine print and it’s no different than CHR, Coyote, Echo, etc. Processes that are being used aren’t working. Management has doubled down on them and isn’t taking feedback from those are who seeing them fail first hand. Much of executive leadership comes from Silicon Valley, Ivy Leagues, and have never actually spent a day moving freight. Their ideas may look good on paper but when it comes down to implementation, original problems are seldom solved and SCO & CS have to clean up the mess before being blamed. Career Advancement has come to an end. After losing a lot of tenured folks to other internal roles, they’ve made it very difficult to switch teams. They say they’re working to build out career paths but so far nothing. If you ask to switch teams, expect no help as you’ll be on your own to find a new role.
