Pros

Ability to work from home, great location (SF), typical start-up tricked out office, fun people, beer

Cons

Turnover is incredible. The first week is amazing, but the shine fades quickly. Management has little experience managing. It seems like everyone who is hired is a white man. Diversity and inclusion is lacking. Leaders (C-level) who were brought on have either left or been fired within a year.

Thanks for writing a review. I wanted to address your comment about turnover because ours is actually pretty standard for the tech industry (around 13%). We did have some leadership-level turnover this year, which may have made it seem more pronounced. We have made definitive strides in diversity and inclusion but, like many of our peer companies, we have work to do on this front. According to our most recent statistics (H1 2019), racial and ethnic diversity in leadership at Flexport is up 8.6% compared to the end of 2018. This number is certainly moving in the right direction, but there’s plenty of room for improvement.

Pros

Lots of really smart and nice people at the company. The culture has improved a lot recently. There's a good amount of room to develop and jump on things that you might not be exposed to in other companies.

Cons

The company moves a little too fast at times and maybe overlooks things that are working well and don't necessarily need to be changed for "efficiency" at the risk of doing things incorrectly. It can be hard to move up in some departments. work/life balance varies a lot by team.
