Pros

- Decent work environment - Not abhorrent pay for younger people - Some coworkers are diamonds in the rough - Better than Walmart - Logistics is the best department. You can work anywhere in the store within reason, however, you will need to prioritize sorting new stock and working it to the floor.

Cons

- Lots of pressure on part-time employees (especially young ones) to be constantly working; this is coming from someone who was awarded "employee of the month" while in high school, not a slacker. Older people can sit down within manager sight without recourse. - Hours changed and cut based on store sales. Cash flow lower than normal? Expect to work 16 hours. - Corporate takeover has caused the company to lose its "homey" feel. Very credit-card oriented; they will guilt trip you (especially cashiers) for not selling them to customers. CC form is a part of dress code. I would not advise becoming a cashier here for this reason. - Management is iffy. They will place incompetent people in charge of you for no apparent reason. If you're not okay with that, you won't enjoy working here. - HR and GM have stated to me that every team lead is in charge of you if you're a team member. You will most likely encounter stern folks who will expect perfection out of you and will get mad if you're not doing what THEY told you to do, even if someone higher in the CoC told you to do it. - Most complaints against superiors are trashed unless something they MUST act on/criminal. Do with that information what you will. - Managers, GM included, are paid low. (Managers = $58k/yr for 50+ hrs a week, no OT pay. No knowledge of GM, but hours are the same). For this reason they are almost always in a bad mood. - Lots of deadlines and insane expectations. This ties in closely with the "corporatization" of the company. You may hear negative stats regarding your department's performance. - Departments other than logistics require you to stay within their "zone", which is a surefire way to burn you out quickly.

Pros

Management was very nice. Fun environment to work in. Great scheduling.

Cons

Not very many cons at all. Maybe that some days we were short of staff in the back and had overloads of work to do and not enough time.

Pros

20 percent discount on equipment if you fish or hunt

Cons

Management is not available when needed. You get zero training and are expected to know how to do your job from minute one Management gets frustrated and angry easily. If you don’t have land or a tractor you know how to fix or have a secondary income this job is not for you Terrible pay Terrible scheduling Can’t keep any full time employees Management has personal kingdom syndrome and will talk your ear off about how much cooler they are than you
