Recently things have really gone down hill and I'm sad to be writing this:
- Management are understaffing shifts and it's putting a strain on everyone and our service. Going from 8 on sections, 1 float, 1 breaks and 2 managers to 6 on sections, no float, no break and one manager? You've had staff members in tears. Only for us to come back the next day and do it again.
- Reducing staff food allowances in my branch was a cold move. We don't have many local options for swaps and to reduce the food we can eat on shift just makes us more tired.
- The quality of the kit we have is poor; the water glasses are quite literally exploding in our hands DAILY because they can't handle being washed so much. The chip buckets are so badly designed they're constantly toppling over, chefs cover the pass in chips because they fall out because the cup is such a silly shape, the wine glasses are complained about constantly because the white wine warms in your hand as it has no stem? The ramekins are all chipped and gross. Everything is so grotty now it's unreal. We are spending half a shift putting something under a table leg for our outside tables because literally all of them wobble because they’re missing the adjustable feet.
- You can give us £10 in our beef bank for a review competition but not full time hours? Either you send people home on shift way too early and screw over everyone left or make 10am openers stay until 1 hour before close (12 hour shifts) there seems to be no in-between!
