Pros

Modern office Trendy react and java tech stack Friendly HR and social office Solid career start if you're looking to get your foot in the door and up skill and potentially seek higher paying opportunities elsewhere

Cons

As Fivecast is an emerging scale up, structure and values are still developing and may not suit everyone. Communication and Transparency - Communication from management was lacking and at times dishonest. For example management regarded working 10am to 6pm as ‘Late’ despite the contract very clearly stating flexible hours. - Fivecast do not give warnings and tends to have lots of employees coming and leaving Company Culture - Contradictory values: taking on challenges and challenging the status quo was frowned upon despite “Stepping up to Challenges” very clearly being a core company value. - There is a need for clearer guidelines, especially regarding flexible work hours. An incident where flexibility was not acknowledged contradicts the company's claim and should be addressed to ensure a fair and consistent application of policies. Compensation: Although average, the remuneration for software engineering roles seems to be subpar, and frankly slow growth opportunities may not be particularly appealing considering Australia’s current cost of living.
