My experience with Fiserv after its merger with First Data was deeply disappointing. The company’s post-merger environment was chaotic, with a clear divide between the Fiserv and First Data sides that never seemed to reconcile. The First Data team, in particular, was incredibly disorganized, and the workplace culture leaned heavily toward excessive chatter and gossip, which detracted from productivity and professionalism. The “rules” and working hours were unnecessarily rigid and inflexible, making work-life balance nearly impossible. Expectations were often unclear, and the lack of streamlined processes added to the frustration. For a company of this size and reputation, I expected a far more structured and supportive environment. Instead, the atmosphere felt toxic and uncoordinated.
