Pros

Untracked PTO, casual dress code, fun people, flexible hours, dog-friendly workplace. It used to be a flat organization where everyone were empowered to work together collaboratively.

Cons

I have only been at Fisdap for a couple of years, but it is very different now than it was when I started. The company was acquired last fall, and since then things have been very unstable. We have lost a lot of people, especially our senior people. The parent company does not seem interested in replacing those positions. Our work goals have been constantly changing and not clearly communicated. The parent company doesn't seem to value or trust the team.

Pros

Flat organization with an enabling feel. A great place to transition from entry level to an experienced business person-- in UX, Project Management, etc.

Cons

Sometimes there is too much talking. Decision making gets too-based on consensus. It leads to some good things, but can feel like a meeting goes _forever_ if there isn't a good scrum master present.

Pros

Untracked PTO Casual work environment Working for a good cause (EMS) The few people that remain in employed with Fisdap are wonderful coworkers

Cons

Small cog in a big machine Senior management is clueless about life Parent company (Ascend Learning / JBL) is an old publishing company out of touch with modern software development Parent company is owned by VC and seeking high margins by acquisitions and merges Parent company management are not genuine Parent company loves hiring H1B and outsourced labor, doesn't offer relocation to domestic talent but will pay Visas for overseas workers. Status: dumpster fire
