Pros
You can come here and learn some skills if you’re new to the industry or job duties. The dress code is lax (sometimes too lax). If you play your cards right and if in the right position, you can get exposure to lots of new opportunities. But, that is really only for a select few. You get BBQ twice a year, some potlucks, and pickles. There are good people there, but they are overworked.
Cons
Where to start. Ok. Let’s go with 1. HR- never, ever go to HR. Ever. They have a nice smile and face but they are there to protect upper management. Period. They send out surveys but never do anything with the information. But hey, we increased our PTO accrual two years ago. 2. IT leadership- wow. What can anyone say. It’s a Mono Culture that studies faith and books like the Amazon Way or The Phoenix project, but cannot see the irony of thier behavior juxtaposed to these lunch and learns. They want to attract talent but when they get there, they are chased away by bullying, berating of employees in public to the point people are broken demoralized them. There is not self awareness enough to see it. 3. Facilities- 4 toilets for the men. Six for the women. They are terrible and can be best compared to the bathrooms at the Greyhound station. The building is old and crumbling. 4. Communication - where are they going? How are they going to get there? How are they going to survive? Ask and you’ll get no answer.
