Pros
I am a CSWA working towards independent licensure, and have worked in a few different settings post-graduation. I also have local friends in the field who have been doing the pre-licensure hustle. This is hands-down the best place in the Portland Metro-Area to get pre-licensed clinical experience and supervision. The leadership team really listens, describes policies with transparency, and operates with integrity. The clinician director is a brilliant therapist, researcher, and supervisor -- invaluable learning and training opportunities with her. From what I gather, the leadership team completely restructured the organization in response to employee feedback over the years. They have created a compensation structure that is actually equitable for pre-licensed clinicians. (Clinicians are charged a flat rate per month to be a part of the practice, and everything you make above that amount goes directly into your pocket. )The pay structure promotes work/life balance, a WAY better dynamic between leadership and clinicians, and significant autonomy and independence for therapists. I was nervous about accepting the position here due to previous glassdoor reviews, but after working here for 6 months and learning about all of the organizational changes, it is clear that those reviews are outdated. Night and day difference between here and the other pre-licensed positions I have experienced and heard about. Best part is, the clients receive better care because the clinicians are treated ethically!
Cons
It is a contract position, so you need to seek out your own health insurance plan and plan financially to take time off.
