Pros

"Work culture" - at least temporarily positive Discount on product is nice Accommodating to time off Great opportunity to learn about product in the industry and meet other representatives

Cons

This company hires really bubbly people in upper and middle management which convinces you that you're in an open welcoming environment. Although, the staff push their extreme leftist views onto other staff members, at times and in places where politics should just stay out of the conversation. It gets stifling. Many decisions were made above our heads deciding our hours, for example, when I was hired I was told I would be pulling full time hours to now receiving maybe 2 separate 4 hour shifts in a week. You definitely make more money in the entry level position than working in middle management despite the pay increase (because hours will drop) So what ever you do, don't take the position, its not worth it. Management decided that each store would get 2 managers on salary while the rest of the team would be forced to take part time hours with no opportunities to work more unless you take shifts from other people or you drive across the city to work at a different location. We were not consulted in this decision, management made this choice on half of everyone. When speaking to management their response is to "suck it up or get a different job" which I wasn't very impressed with. Many of the staff members have mental health issues and this can get in the way of getting real work done, often relying on other staff to complete work for them when they aren't feeling up for the task. This can be draining if you are someone who works hard. Depending where you work in the city, you'll have to manage thefts, robberies, threats, racist comments, resuscitating drug users with naloxone. The incident reports do nothing and the police don't care so much as they are busy with other matters. It's also impossible to get fired, one of our stores hired an employee who made inappropriate sexual comments towards female staff and customers, and it still took months and months and MONTHS... to get this person fired after multiple complaints from staff and from customers. Management makes so many huge decisions over your head without communicating, rumours spread and coworker relationships turn sour. Beware.
