Pros

* Flexible, remote, WFH, choose your own hours, etc. * Get real industry experience — your workload is heavy enough to forget you're an intern! They may even suggest a cheeky little overtime to hit those hard deadlines * Total independence — no mentorship, no hand-holding. GPT is your emotional support system and the senior dev you will probably never have, because: * Your department is probably 90% interns! The HR guy who interviewed me, my PM supervisor, my reliable teammate: all interns. You will definitely vibe with each other. * Level up your archaeology and detective skills as you dig through the intern-built codebase, no standard, no documentation. Not their fault, they did their best with what they could and we love that here!

Cons

* 2,000 PHP/month allowance as an intern, but expect that your workload will far exceed your compensation. * High expectations, tight deadlines, and almost no support — burnout isn’t a risk, it’s part of the package. * Your team today? Probably gone tomorrow. The intern you replaced? Replaced another intern. With intern turnover this high, expect to encounter code and decisions made by people who are no longer with the team — and limited documentation to explain them. * Onboarding is minimalist chic: one systems walkthrough, then off you go to trial by fire your way through the codebase and hopefully into success — though more likely into timeline delays. Don’t feel too bad. * The codebase is messy and will fight you if you try to fix it. This isn't your fault, nor the fault of your predecessors. It just so happened interns were left in charge for the longest time without support, that by the time more experienced eyes thought to check, things were a mess.
