Pros
To start with something positive, FatFace is a good company to work for. The Area Managers are supportive, understanding and kind. Other stores are genuinely welcoming and will always answer questions or give you a hand when you need it. That’s exactly what a good company should be like.
Cons
Unfortunately… none of that seems to have reached the Leeds store. Walking into Fatface in Leeds every day feels like entering a social experiment to see how little work people can do while still collecting a paycheck. Punctuality is optional, productivity is rare, and gossip is apparently everyone’s full-time job. The staff room is busier than the shop floor, and somehow people on four-hour shifts still find a way to disappear for breaks that last forever. The work ethic is embarrassing. The bare minimum would be an improvement. As for the manager… professionalism seems to have left the building a long time ago. There’s obvious favouritism, and it’s impossible not to notice. The favourite staff can get away with almost anything, while everyone else gets criticised for the smallest mistakes. Even worse, people get shouted at and humiliated in front of customers, which is not only disrespectful but incredibly unprofessional. The atmosphere is toxic, morale is non-existent, and instead of working as a team, it often feels like being trapped in a reality TV show full of gossip, double standards and unnecessary drama. Actually, you need to act like a puppy for the team leader otherwise you are out. It’s honestly impressive how a genuinely good company can have one store that manages to ignore almost every value it’s claims to stand for.
