Pros

The job was fairly easy and I didn't have to be "on call" all the time. Celebrated our 50th Anniversary while I was there and they threw a very nice party for us.

Cons

A LOT of people were getting laid off when I was there. When I started, our department had three people - after I left there was only one person and they did not back fill the other positions.

Pros

Flexible working locations and hours, assuming performance expectations and project schedules are met. Benefits are good and expected to be better than average compared to similar companies. The company structure is broad and flat, which eliminates interference commonly caused by middle management, which is excellent for responsible, motivated, and high-level performers.

Cons

Scheduling challenges have historically been pushed to the production staff, and there is no direct or guaranteed compensation for exceptional production performance. Technical leadership tends to be backward-oriented, resilient, and immune to technical improvement. Efforts should realign focus on current products, insight, creativity, and value to provide forward improvement. Salary escalation could be faster and more closely tied to performance and provided value. There is no schedule of values or ranges for employment positions.
