Pros
You definitely learn flexibility as you try to fit walk-ins in between your regularly scheduled patients. The diversity of chief complaints means you never get bored.
Cons
There is not much room for professional growth, as the practice is small and limited to a single owner/provider. Their financial interests take precedence over all other concerns, with the exception of the patients (their "cash cow"). There is no paid time off for continuing education, and if you don't work you don't get paid. Also, there are no medical or retirement benefits.
