Pros
FIN Digital really values hiring someone for their skills and their thirst for building great things for their clients. Marcus and Rakia have been in tech for a long time and are honest about what they expect from you and the responsibility in building great things for the client. It is a no excuse workplace which for someone who likes to work at their best and independently it's great. The staff were always treated to lunch, offered happy hours after long days and were given an open door policy to Marcus & Rakia. Because it's a smaller team working on large projects it was up to you to be transparent and say what you needed, but once you did Rakia will jump over backward to help.
I gained so many additional skills and really gained an empathy and understanding on the power of technology by working at FIN. There is a real dedication to the client and being responsible that I enjoyed.
To the comments below, as an employee (not a contractor) I never had an issue with my check and my benefits package was great (All holidays off, 2 weeks paid vacation, floating holiday, 400 works from home hours, healthcare, eye, dental). Also, if Marcus & Rakia ever felt the staff had a difficult week or just needed a break they would quickly offer a work from home day for the whole team.
The project are exciting and Rakia really pushes each staff member to be invested in it's success. I only left because of family reason but I would work at FIN again.
Cons
They do tend to hire senior level full-time staff and contract junior level staff in hopes of training them (I don't think they do this anymore). This caused the contract staff (who considered themselves full-time) to attempt to get away with things and make excuses. Also, because they weren't really full-time and didn't receive all the benefits of the senior-level full-time staff there at times was a sense of resentment from them which could be frustrated for the people trying to get things done.
It's a client focused company so when a client is upset expect a internal meeting to discuss what happened and how to move forward, but the Management team will always handle the client even if you were the one that caused the issue.
If you don't speak up you may risk not getting the help you need.
