Pros

Small organization with great employees and leadership. Dedicated to a great cause and the work is very rewarding.

Cons

Many of the jobs will require you to travel out of country, so if that is not what you want, it may not be the place for you

Pros

Small close-knit HQ team. Incredibly supportive. Team full of like-minded driven individuals all passionate about supporting FIMRC's mission.

Cons

Really not many cons at all in my experience.

Pros

Working with FIMRC in any position familiarizes you with global health within the context of a small community, and permits you to take charge of new projects that meet the needs of the community.

Cons

There are a lot of communication challenges between HQ and the field. There is a lack of clear direction and expectations for field staff. Each staff member seems to have a different vision of the work being done. Work also is dependent on volunteers in large part, while claiming to integrate volunteers into sustainable programs. There is large pressure to put volunteers' needs ahead of other projects, both directly and indirectly. The organization is dealing with a lot of growing pains that a startup would face, despite celebrating 15 years of operations. The lack of proper systems in place leads to larger work loads for field staff and greater tension between staff members.
