Pros

Meet a lot of guests and other GM's are mostly supportive.

Cons

Upper management expect you to run like the Ritz Carlton on a Motel 6 budget. Incompetent District Managers and the higher ups focus on the dumbest stuff that is of no consequence. Half your hotel could burn down and they will ask if you still did your poaching of guests from other hotels. Oh yes, every week expect to do a report about how you drive around to scummy 1 star motels and are expected to ask guests to switch to your hotel if they look like they are from a company. Also, please know you will need to do the same at any construction company. They have a sales team but I'm not sure exactly what they do except complain we don't give them enough leads and we are just spending 80 hours a week running a multi-million dollar property. Yes, please give me someone else's job to do!! Oh and you can't pay a decent wage and yes as a GM you better bring a change of clothes because you will be cleaning rooms, working overnight and all day. I worked countless 36 hour shifts and I tell you the DM could care less.

Pros

Great leadership from management! My GM has really taken me under her wing and ensures I have all the knowledge & tools available to be the best I can be. She goes above and beyond for the entire staff, consistently shows her gratitude, and never asks anything of the staff that she isn’t willing to do herself! Customer service is my favorite line of work and the only work I’ve ever done. ESA is my first hotel job, and I feel so at home with the company. When I was initially hired, I was just looking for a way to make ends meet. I’ve been with ESA for over 90 days now, and I have grown to love being a part of this company. I am in it for the long haul, and look forward to growing with this company and advancing my career!

Cons

I have no cons. My employment so far has been amazing!
