Pros
- Coworkers were almost always fantastic. I met some of my very best friends working here.
- Pay raises were exponential at yearly reviews, even though you have to negotiate for them.
- Flexible working hours.
- Casual work environment, including dress.
- Working at a small company means you have more mobility.
Cons
I wish I could say that I'm reviewing out of spite, but I'm just tired. I spent quite a bit of time working here, and I would like to leave a genuine review to hopefully save someone from making a mistake.
- Management micromanages your every move and does not trust its employees.
- Owners have low emotional intelligence, and oftentimes lack basic empathy.
- Management will make fun of and gossip about former employees in front of current employees.
- I witnessed one of the owners verbally berate a team member in public.
- Owners talk about caring for students and being passionate about education, but are actually only interested in getting rich.
- Toxic bro-culture where how they treat you can change on a whim, and is based off how much they like you as a person, not out of any sense of professionalism or how hard you work.
- You're only working hard when you are at management's beck and call and working over 40 hours a week (All that is to say work-life balance is not respected).
- You will not be paid on time, even with direct deposit.
- Low starting salary and almost no benefits.
- There is no proper onboarding process. It is sink or swim.
- Incredibly high turnover rate.
- Expectations are never properly communicated, and forgetful management will blame employees for their own mistakes.
