Pros
The people I worked with were great, made a lot of friends. Traveled all over the country to different basins. Got a lot of experience in those different areas.
Cons
Leadership has a mentality of managing down. They think they know what is best for operations even though they are too far removed to know anything that’s actually going on. Yet there will mandate certain processes because they listened to a podcast or read a book or they feel is right without consulting the boots in the ground. Saw this in all disciplines; drilling, geology, completions, reservoir, and land.
