Pros

There is a good work / life balance. Did not feel overly stressed and micromanaged because of my colleagues.

Cons

Where to start. From the moment of getting hired, it was very obvious to me this was a corporation pretending to be a caring higher ed university. Every decision they made is entirely for profit and to cut as many corners as possible. HR was fully onboard with allowing a toxic work environment to continue all because everyone at this company is a yes man going all the way up to the top, They are totally willing to sacrifice student learning and experience all for the next dollar. Genuinely one of the most poorly run companies I have ever seen full of toxicity from the ground up. Do not fall for it - this "university" does not care about you in the slightest!!

Pros

Very little these days. The decent pay is hardly worth the dysfunction.

Cons

The Excelsior President has decided the incompetent shall lead the university. Two recent dictatorship decisions to promote has everyone scratching their heads. Brown nosing will get you places because it sure as heck is not performance. The university is sinking fast. Prematurely opened a Florida site that has NO students or prospects. Paying someone to sit down there and do what? Poorly designed courses with a ridiculous timeline for revision, but hey, that’s just our business. Would you want a course five years out of date? So we’re not dysfunctional enough, let’s acquire a new school, go into debt, overwork nearly every employee, when we all know failure is on the wall. Nearly everyone, apart from the president's fan club, is looking to leave, even in this crappy economy. If the board doesn’t step in, Excelsior won’t exist in five years. It would be hard to believe it could be this bad if we didn’t live it everyday. But don’t worry, HR will leave a message here saying they are working to improve things. Meanwhile you can’t even get them to respond to questions or emails. Don’t get me started on IT. I’ve never seen so many unqualified people poorly leading qualified people.
