Pros

I worked for Evolve a few years ago at their old office and had an overall positive experience. My focus was SEO and Social Media. My ideas were heard and I was given freedom to develop strategies rather than just execute someone else's strategies. I liked how I was involved in the quoting process so we could give realistic expectations to clients. Other agencies I've worked at didn't let the specialists give input on the quotes, so the account managers would quote something totally unrealistic so they'd get their commission and the specialists actually doing the work would always be set up for failure. Not the case at Evolve. The owner sincerely cares about his clients and providing a genuine product. It's an agency so it's a lot of work, but you do learn a lot. We also had fun work outings, foosball, cornhole, etc.

Cons

We used to start at 8am and I didn't like that much, but not sure if it's still that way. I disagreed with the owner sometimes, but it was justified because he knew what he was talking about and had the experience. When you're first coming out of school it's easy to think you know everything because you read some blogs, but the reality is that you only really know theory. You've got to get some experience under your belt first.

Pros

Evolve is hands down the best place I have ever worked! Everyone is so knowledgeable and willing to collaborate to achieve the highest quality of work for our clients. I love working in our office which is a beautiful historic home within walking distance of Highland Square in Akron. However, During the COVID-19 crisis we were able to take any equipment/furniture we needed to set up offices in our home. Although we have been working remotely, I still feel part of a team because of how we were already set up to work remotely. It wasn’t that difficult of a transition – we’ve been able to utilize technology to collaborate as if we were still in the office. Overall, the culture encourages us to work hard, but also play hard. We have company lunches, happy hours and even a surprise day off as a special “thank you” from our president after a particularly busy time where a lot of us were working long hours to meet aggressive deadlines. We have flexible hours which enables us to take care of personal appointments during the work week. I also feel that management is very approachable if you have problems or concerns. I’m not sure what the other reviews were talking about – this is one of the most positive work environments I’ve personally experienced during my varied career in IT and now in digital marketing.

Cons

Sometimes we need to work unanticipated long hours when projects start or end at the same time – that’s really a good problem to have though, it means we’re busy and our clients trust us to get things done.
