Pros

Absolutly love the team. I've worked other places where every department was there own clique and asking for help was uncomfortable. This has been the only place where other departments will jump in and help if others are drowning. The specialty techs frequently check in with ER/ICU before lunch or before they leave for the day to see if they need help. ER jumps in to help surgery premed/recover. Even the doctors and managment will jump in and help as "assistants" ON THEIR DAY OFF to help. The overnight and day crew help each other out. It's not "us vs them". It's also refreshing to work somewhere that isn't bogged down by corprate red tape.

Cons

Like many hospitals right now, staffing is tight. Is still a new hospital compared to the others out there and still has growing pains. They also aren't supported by any coororate management or large company investors so resources can feel stretched at times.

Pros

Pay was decent Learned a lot about exotics

Cons

Bait and switch, pet to threat attitude. If you have skills and are knowledgeable expect to be pushed out. Especially if you raise legitimate concerns, or even ask a simple question with the intent of learning something. DVMs don’t like being questioned, the attitude is they are superior. Zero collaboration and respect, the dvms don’t listen to the techs when they advocate for their patients, it’s their way or the highway. The CEO’s ego is so inflated she thinks she can do no wrong ever. Multiple misdiagnosis then lack of compassion. She takes zero accountability for anything. They’ll tell you they’ll support you in pursuing knowledge and skills then pull the opportunities away because someone being “better” terrifies them. Competition, bullying and backstabbing are encouraged. Brown nosers and “yes” people are trusted more than someone who actually knows what they are doing. Zero repercussions when these people make a mistake or harm especially if they are friends with management and always say yes even to the detriment of the patient they weren’t disciplined. Medicine used to be good, but focus is really money. If a dvm doesn’t like you or feels threatened they will get you fired. Communication is poor to nonexistent. The dvms have zero empathy for their patients or techs and assistants. The overall goal is to get as much money as they can out of owners. They recently added a credit card processing fee on top of the exam fee. Zero emotional intelligence, compassion, or empathy.
