Amazing friends, shambles of a company! - Front of House Everyman Employee Review

Pros

Made strong connections, forged in the fire of distress.

Cons

The kitchen is tiny and often expected to serve 100+ people at one go. Not only that, all those orders need to be taken and delivered within a 25 minute window? Of course, it's impossible. So someone's raw chicken naked burger gets delivered to them an hour into the film. As the runner, you had to climb over people's feet and bags in a dark screening room, during the middle of a film, to deliver it. Everyone glares at you because you are ruining their movie going experience. Their tickets cost £20 each. Just one example of why this business idea makes absolutely no sense, and creates an impossibly difficult work environment for staff. Also, most shifts are purposefully understaffed to cut corners, but staff are still expected to deliver a "premier" experience for customers. So there will be three, maybe four, people running around this gigantic three-storey 1930s cinema, trying to take, make, and run orders. Nasty business.

Pros

Room for growth within the company. Good pay scale. Healthy work environment. Enjoyable atmosphere.

Cons

Scheduling can be difficult because of how busy the business stays but you’re never slow or needing more work. If you’re down to work hard there’s money to be made.

Pros

Flexible shifts during quiet periods. Some co-workers were nice.

Cons

Was on a 10 hour contract but often went weeks without shifts, always cancelled due to lack of guests. Minimum wage for essentially doing three jobs - waiter, cinema employee, and dishwasher. Closes sometimes went on for hours after they were scheduled due to busy films during the Christmas period. Co-workers and managers would openly gossip about others on the clock. Managers would pick favourites and let some team members get away with breaking rules while others are scolded. Got sick because I was on closes all the time and ended up lacking Vitamin D because of the late hours in winter. Do not recommend
