Pros
Close to home and if I got my route done early I could go home, paid salary.
Cons
I fell and thought I fractured my hip. I could not walk or even sleep I was in so much pain. I went to the Dr who gave me a note for work saying that I would not be able to return until healed. The first day I could go in to give my manager the Dr.'s note I also asked for a copy of their FMLA form to have filled out by the multiple doctors I was referred to and to assure I my job would be safe until I could return. The manager told me he would put the FMLA packet together later because he was too busy and that I could come back the next day to pick it up. I showed up at 6am the next morning to pick up the FMLA paper work and instead was informed they were letting me go. I understand my injury is not an ideal situation for my manager but it is not for me either. I was not receiving a paycheck. I felt like the company was very unprofessional and not sympathetic or understanding at all. Unfortunately now, for the first time in my life, I will have to report I was let go to future employers. Unfairly fired or not, it is frowned upon and could cost me great opportunities.
