Pros

Peers and direct managers were great people, relatively decent salary and benefits, quite a nice office space, and very good covid WFH policies and ongoing workplace flexibility.

Cons

The company suffers from a severe case of founder's syndrome and it is the reason that almost everybody leaves the company in their first 6 to 18 months. I saw too many hard working, passionate and successful people rage quit the job during my time at EthicalJobs. The CEO approaches his role as if the company was still in its initial years, i.e. only a handful of staff and a very small footprint in the market. The reality though is that the business employs approximately 30 people across several departments, and handles over 7000 clients. Yet the CEO insists of being involved in every single decision no matter how small or insignificant. There is almost no delegation of duties or authority - even to his GMs - and a worrying lack of self awareness and personal responsibility on his part which most staff are aware of and actively resent. The decent remuneration and WFH benefits are a big part of why people stay here for as long as they do, not the mission or values which also come across as very tokenistic and contrived. The company also claims to be a social enterprise but is more accurately described as a socially conscious business. The large amount of revenue growth since the start of 2021 has not been reflected in the amount donated to charities, and questions have been asked among staff about this point regularly. Overall if you are looking for a place to make some decent money and work with some lovely people, you might find what you're looking for here. If the most important thing for you at work is values alignment, being heard, and making a difference, tread carefully.

Pros

Everyone beneath GM level is actually super smart and amazing at their jobs, or, they would be if they were left to get one with them

Cons

A really miserable place to work mainly due to being a dictatorship. No room for creativity or difference of opinion. CEO is a textbook bully and every single staff members struggles working with him. GMs wouldn't dare challenge him on a single thing, they just agree and parrot whatever he says. The three of them always say about glassdoor - every bad review is a 'disgruntled employee', no bad feedback is real, its an amazing place to work. I promise you, all these reviews are real. Except the five star ones!

Pros

WFH, Direct team members, Salary, client problem solving

Cons

A very diifficult organisation to describe working with..it has such potential to be an absolutely amazing place to work. But falls drastically short when it comes to valuing team feedback, strategic thinking or change, micromanagement, and even some slight cases of work place bullying..all of which are spearheaded by the founder and yes-men management. I can see the validity from most of the prior reviews and know most of their cirumstance and agree with them.
