Pros
I am genuinely appreciative of the opportunity to intern here. The company provides a great entry point into the AI space, and the pay for interns is very competitive and generous. You do get to work on relevant tasks, which is a great addition to your resume and professional growth.
Cons
The management and evaluation processes at this company are fundamentally broken. There is a complete lack of transparency from leadership, and communication is virtually nonexistent until it is time to dismiss your hard work.
The Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) process is an illusion of meritocracy. In reality, conversions appear to be driven entirely by favoritism, internal politics, and arbitrary decisions rather than actual performance. Interns are subjected to rapid, highly opaque evaluations without ever being provided a clear rubric or expectations beforehand.
Management's approach to feedback is deeply unprofessional. In my case, I was brought in at the very end of my six-month tenure and told I had "failed" all project work and PL/QL (Project Lead/Quality Lead) ratings. At no point during the entire internship was this communicated to me, nor was any constructive guidance ever offered to help me align with their hidden metrics. Weaponizing evaluations at the eleventh hour to justify predetermined hiring decisions is a complete failure of leadership.
It is profoundly demoralizing to dedicate six months of hard work to a company, only to be discarded while watching peers who blatantly did the bare minimum receive full-time offers.
