Pros

Field team members are great- I've met some great people. Lots of training and classes. Health insurance is decent and can be pretty low cost but only if you participate in their wellness program.

Cons

Upper management is distant and only recognizes poor performance. As an onsite team member, you rarely hear from upper management until something goes wrong. Pay is insanely low. Commission structure makes it difficult to make any real money. Company says that they promote from within but plays favorites and will often already know who they are promoting without interviewing other candidates within the company. Impossible to get time off as a leasing consultant because the property always needs to be staffed and management is unwilling to cover or find help. Hours are long and leasing team is always expected to be in office even when other team members are leaving early.

Although we regret that your experience has not been more positive, we appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and concerns. As you may have heard, we are piloting a new commission structure in select markets — news on the results of the pilot and any potential changes to the company structure will be communicated by the end of the year. We also made several changes this year in an effort to continually invest in our employees’ careers, including bringing back the Assistant Community Manager position and rolling out Accelerate for Sales, a competitive and inclusive management training curriculum for high-potential Leasing Consultants. If you are unfamiliar with any of these initiatives, or if you have concerns about your own work/life balance and career growth that you don’t feel you can share with your manager, we urge you to contact a member of your local Human Resources team.

Pros

The communities are physically nice

Cons

The biggest problem is the current tour policy is sheer insanity. On-site staff are already burning out by headcount being reduced whenever possible, and on top of it, they have made tours unlimited (5 tours can be booked at once, and this can happen every 30 minutes, even for 1 person working). Leasing agents and on-site staff are going to leave, burn out, continue calling out causing further short staffing. PLEASE do something about this policy before our office staff disintegrates, it is truly awful.
