Pros
- Great culture
- Phenomenal growth opportunity, specifically, personal growth: Epicom strikes a perfect balance of autonomy and structure. I personally do not enjoy being micro-managed but still require some accountability (think personal trainer at the gym). Whenever I need help or get stuck, guidance is available. However, I have total control of how I work and am able to plan my days how I see fit.
- Every employee has a seat at the company decision making table
- Every employee is so smart, SERIOUSLY. Every day I am challenged in a new way, it's impossible to not grow. I've experienced more personal and professional growth in the last 12 months than I did in the 5 years before.
- Epicom invests in employee growth e.g. We have a book club with collaborative feedback and monetary incentives, training is provided and paid for, etc.
- Awesome office: We have skeeball, foosball, chess boards, snacks, coffee, le croix, and a beer fridge
Cons
Small company: Most of the pros mentioned above can be CONS for some people, be honest with yourself when evaluating the pro's of autonomy. If you're someone who really does thrive best with structure and more frequent accountability, that 'pro' for me would be a 'con' for you. This is a pro that took me a few months on the job to refine, you must structure and plan your days, no one will do it for you.
