Pros

- Good salary for area - Great salary for new grads - Fantastic summers - Mostly flexible on-the-job training, as long as you get hired, it doesn't matter what your background is. - Fantastic food - Great campus for family and friends - Ownership* (responsibility is good for personal growth) - Stellar healthcare - Epic Hosting roles (this is one) pay better than Epic proper (Technical Solutions Engineer, Project Manager), and imo, allow for more career growth opportunities - In spite of "longer" con list, generally positive experience for me

Cons

- No experience is equivalent to 10 years experience. They care little about your previous life. - Awful Wisconsin winters. - Sip-the-Kool-aid culture. - Leadership has sordid DEI past - Good salary is not growing faster than Madison/Verona cost of living. Cheap/reasonable places are 30+ minute drive, and... - Don't forget you're expected to be in-person for all work. This is not exaggerated. - Staggering differences in work enjoyment contingent on Team Lead and role. - They will work you to the bone if you let them -- and sometimes, not an option. - Middling other benefits (paltry vacation, poor WFH policy, mediocre retirement match, only two weeks paid maternity leave??? for a healthcare company???) - Ownership* (oh you've heard of this before? you own it now)
