Hire slow, fire under great prejudice - Reviewer of Reviewers Epic Employee Review

Pros

Low entry barrier. Copious pay and benefits relative to cost of living. Committed customers with whom it is fun to work. Easy work. Down-to-earth co-workers.

Cons

Variance in advice, recommendations and policies promulgated by management. Any slander by customer against employee is promoted to gospel, no matter how negligent the customer. Ivory tower management: there is a clear prejudice against truth in favor of protecting middle management and their baseless assertions. In other words, you'll last as long as you can avoid ill management and wanton customers (I only had one of the latter). Good luck!

Pros

Impact: You are part of creating systemic level change for healthcare organizations. You get to be on site and work directly with providers and see how these changes impact their communities. People: Extremely smart and capable. I feel like I can rely on my team in a way I haven't at previous employers. New hires are entry level, so there's a strong community for people in a similar stage of life. Culture: Quirky but in a real, unique way. People are collaborative and celebrate shared accomplishments. The campus enshrines a very specific (and fun!) vibe. Location: Madison is awesome. Benefits: The health insurance is unparalleled. Sabbatical is a super cool perk too. Growth: A lot of autonomy and responsibility allows people to rise to the challenge. Stability: Solid industry, no lay-offs.

Cons

Remote work flexibility: 5 days a year
