Pros

Training at Epic is pretty comprehensive - they offer some very interesting class. You will get trained in the technical aspects of your application, but not in how to actually do your job, though. The health plan is fantastic. There is much opportunity to learn and become specialized in a certain area. The campus is appealing, but you will spend a majority of your time cloistered in a small office.

Cons

This job really burned me out. I spent a majority of my days living in fear. Mentors are people who've put in long hours and have technical expertise - not people who can actually coach and mentor. Furthermore, my "boss" was someone I saw every couple weeks and hence did not develop a close relationship with. My day-to-day tasks were supervised by another overworked employee who had little time to coach me. I consistently felt horrible about myself - my personal life became a disaster and I let my health go. Salary is nice, but the company makes you put everything on your personal credit card when you travel, then wait a month for reimbursement. There is no time for professional development once you start working with a client. Expect to work long hours and weekends. Don't expect to get recognized for your work. Overall, it was a learning experience but I wouldn't say "great first job out of college." I got out after 7 months and am now piecing my life back together. Find work at another company -- although people who work in HR seem to have it pretty good.
